Bruce Dean received a Master of Fine Arts degree from Otis Art Institute in 1974 with a major in painting and a minor in drawing. He began his career as a free-lance illustrator, initially working on assignments for various magazines and publishing companies. He eventually worked with major advertising agencies and designers nationally.

In 1980 he began exhibiting abstract paintings at several galleries across the country. His exhibition history includes eight solo shows and twelve group shows many of which were reviewed in major metropolitan newspapers He also created several series of posters, both abstract and realistic that sell internationally. His career as a free-lance illustrator continued, but the posters and exhibitions allowed him to be more selective in the projects he accepted.

In June of 1998 he accepted the position of Lead Artist and Art Director for an on-line game company, Intelligent Life Games, a position that he currently holds. He developed the look of the game, created the artwork and supervised the creation of a digitally produced promotional film. Intelligent Life Games recently announced the commercial launch of their first game, Imperial Wars. www.imperialwars.com

In June of 2002, Bruce was hired as the Art Director, Set Designer and Lead Artist for an off Broadway production of the play, Raft of the Medusa, by Joe Pintauro, produced by The Millennium Talent Group. After a successful initial run, the play began an equity production in August 2003.

Bruce continues to work on painting exhibitions, poster production, set design, and game development. Bruce is frequently asked to speak to art classes on studio visits from local southern California high schools and universities. He currently divides his time between New York City and Los Angeles.
